Summary only road traffic offences

For all driving offences where a guilty plea is being entered we offer a fixed fee of £600 plus VAT at 20% £120 total £720 payable on account. This fee will include:- 

• requesting and considering prosecution evidence

• taking your instructions

• advice on likely sentence

• attendance at representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court

• lodging appeal against sentence if required

• one hour return travel by car to the court and back

This fee does not include:

• instruction of any expert witnesses ( Costs of experts will be determined by the area of expertise and are estimated at £500.00 to £1000.00 plus VAT at 20% £100.00 to £200.00, making a total of £600.00 to £1200.00. )

• the taking of any statements from any witnesses

• advice, assistance and representation in respect of a Special Reasons Argument

• advice, assistance and representation in respect of an exceptional hardship argument

• more than 1 hours return travel by car from our office (any time over 1 hour will be billed at the hourly rate of £100 or part thereof) plus VAT at 20%

• additional hearings if the case is adjourned for any reason

• instruction of Counsel

• the provision of detailed advice on appeal, especially where Counsel’s advice is needed

• pursuing an appeal at a higher court

The key stages of our services to you based on your entering a guilty plea

• we will arrange a face to face meeting with you at our office to take your instructions about what happened

• we will endeavour to obtain and consider initial disclosure and any other evidence and obtain your instructions and advise you

• we will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of the hearing and the sentencing options available to the court

 • we will meet you at court

 • all cases tend to be listed at either 10am or 2pm and we cannot say with any certainty at what time your case will be called. We would expect it to take no longer than half a day

• following the hearing we will discuss the outcome with you and if so advised will lodge an appeal with the court if required.
